Mercury always carries a healing message. What we learn now impacts upon our integrity in the coming months (especially while dynamic Mars is retrograde in principled Virgo). Oceanic NEPTUNE changes signs today, Feb 3rd, returning toimaginative PISCES for the first time in 165 years (for only the 2nd time since itsdiscovery!) ~> where the magical 8th outer planet stays for the next 14years, until 2026. Mystical Neptune in spiritual Pisces stimulates deep sensitivity, a shared sense ofoneness and collective emotional experiences, as well as the third eye. Individualintuitive psychic senses are also heightened, as is the urge to submerge andinfuse with the Divine through blissful Piscean/Neptune ways, i.e. yoga, meditation,prayer, subtle body awareness, ritual trance, healing, art, music, dance,poetry, film, photography, and swimming, or any other positive activity inwhich we lose or renounce the ego-grasping self, happy to be in the cosmic lovevibration, and of spiritual service of other sentient beings.

To actively achieve this compassionate condition, in theMahayana Buddhist tradition we generate ‘Bodhicitta’, which is precious stateof mind. Bodhi means 'awakened' or 'enlightened' – 'citta' is the heart-mind. Whenwe generate bodhicitta not only do we want other s to be free from suffering, wealso want to be awakened ourselves - and this means we must also be kind to our‘self’. Bodhicitta therefore aims for both personal and planetary healing,which Neptune in Pisces indicates.

Fourteen years is a long time in a sign, and the ingresschart for London sets the cosmic intention of Neptune Pisces, still travellingwith heaven's wounded healing shaman, Chiron, also in Pisces since April 2010. Togetherthese planets imply the importance of (planetary and personal) emotionalhealing, as well as the need to purify the world’s water. Luckily, Neptune andChrion also approach the descendant, point of contracts, signifying much can bedone together, as spiritual friends, in loving healing partnership, activelyinvolved in generating bodhicitta, and a balanced heart with the light of awareness.

The ingress chart also shows Neptune and Pluto in 'septile' to each other; this celestial connection creates a rarely seen magical portal between the two outer generational planets, denotes a small window of opportunity to transform our understanding of the 'unseen' Neptunian or Piscean vibration - one might also read that because Neptune's nature is to create illusion and glamour, this lovely aspect - that could signify spiritual critical mass - could pass us by. A deLIGHTful 'Grand Trine'involves the 6th house Neptune in water sign Pisces, in trine to a conversant10th house Moon in airy Gemini, and Saturn in Libra in 2nd, also in Air. The 6^th house Neptune accents dailyspiritual practice; Moon in the 10^th suggests a responsibility tokeep informed; and Saturn in the 2^nd tells us to value love and casta discerning eye over finances. This is an air/water Trine that accents mental,emotional and economic stability can be achieved and employed, especially whenraising consciousness for (mass) healing. Certain close relationships could havetaken a knock this week, but take heart; a 't' square between the Gemini Moonand the current Mars/Venus opposition requires kindness, compassion, and abalance between those combined want's and/or personal requirements, so that allparties get their need’s met.

Kalachakra Peace Mandala ~> Full Cancer Moon 2012

His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama, currently finishing his 32nd KALACHAKRA (time-wheel) for WORLD PEACE. _(♥)_ This time the beautifully complex Kalachakra mandala, depticting the cosmos in relation to mind & body, is built in Bodhgaya (the place where Buddha achieved enlightenment) to culminate over this full Cancerian Moon on the 8/9th January.

From the astrological point of view this is an insightful Moon, at home in 18 degrees of Cancer, indicating an emotional family affair balancing karmic conditions. Dealing with the past over this full moon can build stronger foundations for both, career and home; with boundaries defined one is freer one to move ahead.

While reflecting the winter light of the consolidating Capricorn Sun, our evocative Cancer Moon makes her most helpful aspect to dynamic Mars, in purifying Virgo (who is slowing down to go retrograde on the 24th, just as the elegant & energetic, inscrutable Water Dragon makes HER entrance with a new Aquarian Moon on the 23rd (water element is feminine:))! To help achieve this celestially obliged objective, a firstquarter moon ties into the New Year. In Tibetan Buddhism a first quarter moonis attributed to Sangye Menla, Medicine Buddha. Today (and tomorrow, the 1st) weperform the healing practice (with mantra “Tayatha Om Bekanze Bekanze MahaBekanze Rasa Sammut Gate Soha”) while the emotive Moon grows in dynamic Aries,sign of the determined Ram; in square to Spirit Sun in realistic Capricorn,orienting and initiating active strength and courage, our collective life-forcecan be positively charged through the realisation of self in relation to thegreater whole. Life is vast and we all play a valued and connected part inexploring such boundless infinity ~> with each moment a miracle in the unfoldingof perfect beauty.

At the stroke of midnight GMT, the sensitive Moon allies toUranus, inspiring planet of generational wishes, flashes of insight, and altruisticintention – as well as portending dramatic surprise that electrifies and sparks aparty into action. Regular readers may recall how Dharma Stars previously notedhealing is one of 2012’s main astrological features. I would also like tohighlight the ongoing Uranus Pluto Square demanding transformation withininnovation (according to Astrid Fallon); mind-science and mind-training arealso part of 2012’s characteristics . Startingwith the New Year’s Eve Medicine Buddha Moon, astral therapy continues with motivatingMars in restorative Virgo for the first six months, about about to goretrograde on the 24^th January for three and a half months until 14 of April. Remember how Mars is the exoteric ruler of the Aries Moon; and,as we enter this incredibly hyped year, the first major applying aspect is fromquick-silver Mercury in square to the feminine Virgo Mars, it’s as thoughwomanly wiles provide a seriously swift remedial key. Mercury in Sagittariushas also returned to the very same 20 degrees where it was at the start of the lastMercury retrograde! Think back to late November and note how a certain healingvision/action is already on the road to a resolution; by following perfectintuition, doing the right thing at the right time, healing self, healingothers, healing the planet.

For the first time in ages all planets are going forward aswe enter this iconic year, meaning it’s easier to visualise where we areheading. Where we are now, however, isat this serious point of transformational action, as indicated by the UranusPluto Square. Few will escape 2012’s fast-moving ever-changing events. This is because bothUranus and Pluto are ‘generational’ planets, influencing great swathes of time.This current Uranus-Pluto square will continue in effect until 2015; andwhile the roots of this cycle lie in the mid-60s’, there is another cycle betweenSaturn and Pluto that began in the early-80’s, which also involves the evolutionof our collective Spirit, also accenting the transformation of our socio-economicstructure; Saturn now at home in balanced Libra (retrograde from Feb 8th until just past Summer Solstice) internalises the karmic lesson to come from the heart.

More cosmic indication that healing is paramount during 2012 :(1) the passage of a retrograde Venus in front of the Gemini Sun (ruled by diverseMercury) in June, adding worth and self-love to all aspects of helpfulmind-training (lojong). (2) The eclipses that cross the Sagittarius-Gemini axisactivate the healthy life of soul; and in June, the lunar eclipse also squares theVirgo Mars, just as it did late November and again 10^th December –mind/health/communication issues could be repeated until resolution later inthis year. (3) Jupiter, planet ofreligion, teaching and travel, moves into Gemini showing one needs to be curious and versatilein order to grow.

Yet while I have focused mainly upon the healing qualitiesof Mercury, and the two signs it exoterically rules, Gemini and Virgo, for 2012, there are plenty of other qualities for suchmulti-faceted celestial symbols, such as intellectual pursuits or ourneighbourly connections, communication, retail, and/or travel. Any or all of thesetopics are subject to influence throughout 2012. Concentrate upon the healing aspect and boost the (collective)immune system during the coming year, so by this time next year we will be inbetter shape to embrace what will be perhaps the largest mass meditation theglobe will ever experience, at the 2012 Winter Solstice.

Meanwhile take each day at a time. Know that astrology isbut one aspect of looking at the world during this exciting year of the Dragon; Meditation also provides stability,calm, and very special insight. Winter Solstice 2011 _(♥)_ New Capricorn Moon Xmas Eve

Whichever spiritual holiday you celebrate, Christmas, Solstice, Saturnalia, Osiris, Mithras, Hannuka or Kwanga (or all for good measure! :)) this darkest part of year (in northern hemisphere) is often deeply emotional, when resting and taking a good look back provides insight and rejuvination. With 2012 just around the corner, promising to be a dramatic year, light-workers and dharma practitioners alike will want to be in the best possible form, mindful and aware, in order to generate the heart-mind's precious bodhicitta and ride the waves of love, beaming radiant light.

Ready yourself now to leave the past behind and release painful or psychic baggage into the void, so that we never have to deal with whatever bugs us again (at most not for another seven lifetimes!). For the Capricorn stars watching over this WINTER SOLSTICE, at 5:30 on the morning of the 22nd December, present the perfect opportunity to stop and assess, in order to liberate, heal, and transform all that no longer serves our Divine purpose. The return of Sunlight (in the northern hemisphere) signals the ‘New Light King’ is reborn, providing Spirit with a strong ‘Seed of Consciousness’, that is nourished and nurtured by realising certain ultimate truths.

Winter Solstice (still aligned with Galagtic Centre AND Pluto for one more year!) is swiftly followed by a new Capricorn Moon on Xmas Eve (2 degrees of disciplined Capricorn at 18:06 on the 24th December) when, due to the baring of expansive Jupiter - at station to go forward in tropical 0degrees Taurus - spiritual/material growth is put into perspective, as well as the emergence of practical and personal value developing into something much more solid and obvious towards the Spring Equinox. Until then, am thanking our lucky stars that Jupiter, celestial Santa Clause, is beginning to pull out of his endlessly long opposition to Saturn in late Libra (tipping the balance of finances, housing, govts for the past couple of years); A recovery of some sort may well be a welcome relief as we cross the symbolic threshold into 2012 and enter THE year of a zillion fantastic predictions. These predictions mostly centre upon next year's winter solstice. At which one wonders what will we be doing this time next year? Watching ufos from Mayan pyramids? ;) Tuning into ascended Atlantians? ;) Or just plain turning off the fear-factor? :)) I predict one thing is certain: Winter Solstice 2012 is going to be the largest Global meditation the world has ever seen - or felt.

So this, and the coming Summer Solstice on June 21st are a kind of run-through to excercise our ability to tune into 'the field', the noosphere, to restore human faith, love and compassion. Before a Solstice (the same is for summer solstice (in southern hemisphere)) meditation, prayers, ceremony or practice, be aware that when the Sun is at the Solstice standstill (Sol = Sun, stice = still) the connection between Spirit Sun and Mother Earth creates a momentary 3-day 'gap', just like 'the gap' in meditation which happens in-between the ‘out breath’, and before the ‘in breath’. This is the cosmic pause in which we rest, and the very pause from which we stop past conditioning and karmic habits to release painful negativity, before inhaling once again life-giving goodness that comes from air’s life-sustaining prana. Take note to consciously breathe in positivity and exhale anything unhelpful - You’ll be surprised at how much stronger and positive you will feel, instinctively able to shine throughout 2012_(♥)_ Dharma practioners will no doubt even flip the cosmic coin and practice tonglen. ;)

Solstice ♥ Lama Tsongkhapa ♥ DAKINI day & Hannuka Dec'11

Today is an important day in the Buddhist calendar: not only it is DAKINI day, with Sun and Moon in the last 'harmonious' aspect of a waning lunation, accenting a feminine kind of Sagittarian wisdom; But it is also Lama Tzongkhapa day, honouring the 14th Century Tibetan founder of the Galugpa sect, which His Holiness, the Dalai Lama heads.

And it’s also Hannuka! :))

So I thought I'd share Dakini VajraYogini's beautiful mandala, the timeless tetrahedron: a multi-cultural, multi-symbolic six-pointed star.

Mutual Reception ~> Venus Capricorn square Saturn Libra _(♥)_ Dec'11

Whenever the love goddess Venus is in responsibleCapricorn (as she is now), relationships are prone to the no-nonsense5-year-plan kind of commitment, knowing that time is relative, but practicemakes perfect. Beautiful Venus in earthy Capricorn can bolster a sense ofaccomplishment and achievement; and as she squares up to Saturn at 27 Libra - to be exact on Sunday 18th Dec, we get the chance toexercise a double dose of the Venus-Saturn discipline: stabilising the'heart-mind’. Mercury Direct Dec'11 & The Caduceus: A cosmic clue to 2012

Caduceus carrying symbol of healing & communication, Mercury,is going forward tonight, 13th December '11, in far-sighted Sagittarius, the sign of religion, philosophy, and big sweeping concepts such as the God partical: Over the next couple ofweeks we get to apply any re-found wisdom that helps to understand the biggerpicture (at Cern), as well as putting into perspective much-needed (global & individual) remedial action. When Mercury once again crosses ‘The Great Attractor’ towards theend of the year, the power of the mind to heal physically, mentally and spiritually, becomes a cosmic key for 2012. New ideas to restore a natural balance could come thick and fast.

Mercury’s current change in direction is accompanied by a tightlyconnected fire triangle, with the regal Leo Moon in trine to radical Uranus(who has also just gone forward) in autonomous Aries. And with dynamicMars in Mercury-ruling Virgo for eight months, one might even say 2012 isMercury’s year. 2012 is therefore a yearto work with Mercury's magic wand, the caduceus, on an external, internal, and secret way, in order to heal mind, body AND spirit.

Having seeded new ideas and set the intention with a New Moon Solar eclipse two weeks ago, it is now, with a reflective Lunar eclipse, that we see how the mind mirror works - and how our world really is a reflection of all that we think. As this lunation culminates we can recognise just how bright the mind-mirror becomes when we let our light shine.

~~> ☼ ☽☆☾ The Dragon's Head fires-up the Sun in far-sighted Sagittarius ♐, at 18degrees, and aligns with the Dragon's Tail and the malleable Gemini Moon ♊. While we won't be able to see a blood red moon in Great Britain @14:36 gmt, the world over still feels the effects and co-create in meditation the SACRED COSMIC UNION of Yin and Yang, accenting elementals Fire and Air so inspiritation and intellect become active and alive with wisdom and creativity.

The Moon in Gemini is ruled by the currently retro Mercury, also in philosophical Sagittarius, asking us to RETHINK. The Lights, Sun & Moon conjunct the nodes; and apply a tight square to Mars in Virgo (which is also ruled by Mercury); Mars is therefore at the 'South Bend'. The South Bend is a critcal point of (personal and collective) karmic release, often through overcoming obstacles.

This eclipse presents a very Mercurial theme: abstract and intellectual, as well as curious and cunning. Though letting-go of negative forces that hinder or harm demands awarness of what is constuctive; in the Buddhist tradition, training the mind to focus upon a helpful attitude facilitates healing & happiness, with the ability to transform negative forces into a means of enlightenment _(♥)_

Yet Mercury, the planet of short distance travel, is now in the sign of the long-haul, and retograde through the eclipse until the 13th December, when it stations to go direct at 2 Sag: You know he drill: DOUBLE CHECK all travel plans, docs, etc, and make sure you have all the numbers you might need on the charged phone.

A closer inspection of the lunar eclipse chart shows the active and assertive Mars purifying in detail with the hard square (as it was also at the New Moon; so the challenge to create dynamic healing remains a theme for this rest of the lunation - until the New Moon at Xmas Eve); still Mars is tempered by a separating trine to organised power chick, Venus in Capricorn. Martian aggression, although roused, therefore remains tamed by strongly ambitious feminine energy, keeping impluses in check. Venus, in turn, finds her place in the eclipse slightly challenging. Currently on the charm offensive in ambititious and meaningful relationships Venus recently was in mutual reception to expansive Jupiter in materialistic Taurus; now she is in mutual reception to authoritative Saturn in partnership-orientated Libra. This means Venus is key in both, harmonising the bigger (financial) vision, as well as implementing a heart into balance. That’s the cosmic theory anyway. Interestingly, Venus is now opposite Angela Merkel’s Sun…

Even if the rest of the ‘world’ seems chaotic, by courageously living in the moment, having faith in truth and goodness, new and surprisingly optimistic feelings can inspire and propel _(♥)_

As today's intuitive ‘Guru Rinpoche’ is for feasting and celebrating the relationship with the Guru, a marvellous combination of two YANG signs suggest decisive action: The Sun in far-sighted Sagittarius is in dramatic aspect to the autonomous Moon in Aries (exact on the 5th at 3:19gmt).

Spirit of the Guru now embodies the Jupiter-ruled Sagittarian Sun, i.e. a double dose of philosophical wisdom and strength is found within, all we have to do is be brave and see the bigger spiritual picture. Radiant Sun is also now with the retrograde communicative Mercury – also in questing Sagittarius; both are also drawing on the very subtle galactic energy from the ‘The Great Attractor” – it’s as though as understanding self, with all our quirks, is our greatest pull. The heavens are currently urging us to open our minds, broaden our vision, and consider a far-bigger picture than we possibly ever imagined. Over the next few days, as the Sun continues to pass through far-sighted Sagittarius, it also crosses a part of the sky called ‘The Great Attractor’, a mysterious gravitational point in the heavens. No one is really sure as to why so many galaxies are drawn towards the ‘Great Attractor’, some 250 million light years away. Yet our potential (for enlightenment) while our own Milky Way is drawn towards this cluster of galaxies is phenomenal. And this is why we have to now think BIG and embrace the power to create in the mind’s eye the dream we’ve always dreamt of.

Because this is how the ‘law of attraction’ works: The future is what we make it, co-creating with the universe, concentrating and focusing upon what we really want to achieve. Today’s encouragement comes with a little word of warning, however, while the retrograde Mercury also joins the Sun at this magical point; and that is not to lose oneself in dogma and detail, but to use this time to aim high and imagine our aspirations well and truly embodied. New SuperMoon Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius ~ November'11

A new SuperMoon onThursday night/ Friday morning (6:08GMT on the 25^th November) is asolar eclipse at 2 degrees in fiery Sagittarius, sign of the archer centaur who's arrow is directed towards higher principles: truthand freedom. A simple truth is how freedom is all too easily lost when we allowaggression and attachment to rule. In a world strewn with ignorance and desireit is the agent of falsity, the grasping ego, which we need to tame in order toreveal that radiant truth. Yet this incredible egoless wonder can only ever beexperienced individually. No one can make us fully aware of our innate luminouswisdom but ourselves. Thankfully, astrologically speaking, there are times whena more obvious portal unlocks the alive kind of awareness that canpotentially open the heart-mind, such as during an eclipse.

Before I go intodetail of this eclipse, it’s always important to note how eclipses are mighty powerful, not to be taken lightly in any way; especially now, as this is aSuperMoon (when the moon is perigee (in close approach to the earth)) and all kinds of dramatic turning points can arise. As such, I advisepeople to psychically, emotionally (and even physically) protect, so that when the cosmic portal opens wide one remains safely centred in breath, heart andmind. Mindful of this potent force which lies withinand around each and every living thing, the balance of male and female, sun andmoon, yin and yang is at once receptive and dynamic, magnetic and electrical,commanding a personal and sometimes psychic awareness that dissolves duality. How attentive we are of this naturally subtlebut powerful (Vajra Body) energy and its blissful state of ONEness depends uponhow open our heart-mind can be to unconditional love. And this is probably oneof the great truths: love is our natural peaceful state. Although partial, this Sagittarian solar eclipse will beseen in Antarctica - Earth’s southernmost pole, suggesting a passage ofheavenly energy flows through Earth’s axis (with the Dragon's head, aka Rahu or North Node, opening the root chakra) andwithin the Sushumna, for Rahu’s divinenectar to flow and radiate as a boundless sea of infinite stream of (toroidal) auraand love-light.

While this is thelast of four partial solar eclipses of the year, it also coincideswith quick-silvered Mercury at station, going retrograde for three weeks. As theruler of Gemini, Mercury is also a major player in this set of eclipses, as it is thesign in which the upcoming lunar eclipse will take place on the 10^thDecember. Gemini activates the cosmic light of intelligence: The heavens nowurge one to release negative associations or distructive thought patterns that block the flow and hinder realising truth.

During thisThanksgiving Thursday/Friday’s solar eclipse, both Mercury, planet of the MIND,and Venus, planet of LOVE, loosely align to the GALACTIC centre, galvanizinga continued shift in the noosphere as well as individual consciousness. A Venus in Sagittarius archer findssupport directing cupid's arrow towards the cosmic love vibration. When communicative Mercury is infar-sighted Sagittarius, it broaden's the mind, emboldens the free-spirit, and fuels the independent thinker; retrograding Mercury retraces thoughts and ideas which help to understand the biggerpicture, and get a handle on what truth and freedom actually means; as well aspay service to the demanding attention to detail and any philosophical, spiritual and religious ideals, as well aslong-distant travel, or law courts, academia, and/or the in-laws.

This is a very purple dorje Jupiterian moment in time (Purple is Jupiter's colour;)). Also active in theSolar eclipse chart is the Grand Earth Trine, to which Sun and Moon are in achallenging quincunx formation to the still retrograde Jupiter (going forward on Boxing day (just as I am with the in-laws!)). Jupiter isalso the planet of expansion, and Sagittarian ruler. Though this formationis what my astrology teacher, Howard Sasportas, called 'a push-me-pull-you',something has to give: A quincunx implies we need to adjust. With expansive Jupiter in sensual Taurus, the sign of love and money now creating tension to Sun and Moon, everyone is feeing the stress of materialgrowth. Though all is not currently lost. Because of Jupiter's ruling connection to Sagittarian Sun, coupled with Venus - who rules Taurus - also being in Sagittarius, Sun/Moon, Venus and Jupiter, are alltherefore within the helpful framework labeled ‘mutual reception’. So even with the difficult labelling (and distribution of tasks) this transit actually indicates, Venusian compromise is possible;even the dreadfully-behaved financial markets could stretch themselves to maintain goodhumour when discovering the growth they seek has slow periods. All anyone has to do is to look away from the money markets to see how people can and do THRIVE - even under this trying circumstance, alignment to the universal flow of radiant truth creates peace and love.

Perhaps the mostimportant lesson from the Zodiac’s Guru, Jupiter – who is Lord of this solareclipse (tropically speaking), is how spiritual healing is, while exigent (as indicated by the T-square to Mars opposition Neptune), well worth the effort exploring. Infact, with the current trine from Sun and Moon to radical Uranus, planet of dramatic change, Isuspect there will more than a handful of individuals who now suddenly ‘wake-up’ andsmell the divine nectar.

Mars in Virgo ♂♍ in stabilising Grand Earth Trine

Cast your mind back to a lovely late August bank holiday :) Note exactly what began around that time, possibly as a dream which pleased and excited. Now see that very thing (person, situation, or ideal) begin to develope and pick-up pace with serious celestial oomph. I'm saying this now because that very nice Earth Grand Trine we had at the start of the Indian Summer is back in heavenly play. Back then it was Sun and new Moon that brought Jupiter and Pluto's long trine to the fore, that symbolises massive transformation of the current value system. Now its dynamic and assertive Mars, who can go with the flow in the feminine sign of the virgin.

Since Mars moved into Virgo on the magical date, 11:11:11 (where he will diligenty work, heal and purify every last detail for EIGHT months - (extended stay due to retrograde (more on this later)) it generates extra energy to restore the Grand Trine's recouperative powers; linking to benificent Jupiter in Taurus (the zodiac's banker), and Pluto in Capricorn (the zodiac's corporation) Mars is ready to find solutions and cleverly overcome obstacles. This should also help any healing process within the current global financial shake-up.

Halloween blessings to one and all _(♥)_ As nature’s thinning veils between life and death allow one to view the previously hidden with a profound spiritual sensitivity, leading to greater insight and extra-sensory perception, it is at Samhain that a mysterious part of the psyche can shift into visible consciousness, and renew determination to understand deep-rooted influences, discover deceptive secrets, and resolve difficult power issues.

During the Day of the Dead, we magically communicate with loved ones who have passed, and imbibe Spirit of Ancestors. Thus empowered by the strength and beauty of all that has gone before, we can embrace the affairs of the everyday world with the resources to transform selfishness into selflessness and subdue the nature of our base desires.

From the astrological point of view, at ‘All Hallow’s Eve’, the gothic Scorpio Sun marks the sensitive Water element of zodiac's Fixed Cross (exact on the 7th November) symbolic of controlling systems facing points of crisis that, through honed intuition, can relinquish all which no longer serves (collective) liberation.

Scorpio is a sign of transformation, regenerating Spirit through the ability to delve into previously hidden places, ideas, or thoughts. With laser-like perception Scorpio cuts to the quick and swiftly releases the outmoded or outworn so that one is literally reborn and renewed. To aid the metamorphosis, the Scorpio Halloween lunation draws back the veil of illusion to begin the lunar cycle with Sun and Moon in very good relation to the celestial shaman, Chiron, the sensitive healer who continues to travel hand-in-hand with magical mystical Neptune. As the world turns,our Solar year has two equinoxes, with days that are marked by equal-day andequal-night, in Spring and Autumn. Each has a distinct signature: Autumn is cool,yin and feminine, inclining towards the cocooned dark of restful night; while Springis hot, yang and masculine with energies dynamically moving headlong towardsthe light. Thus Autumn Equinox, on Friday, 23d September at 10:06bst, heralds thecool and freshly feminine approach to darker days (in the northern hemisphere).

Libra - the sign weenter on Friday (Venus’s day!) is astrologically attributed to the intellectualelement Air, which is yang. Yet the zodiac’s mechanical scales, upon which weassess balance and peaceful harmony in all relations, is actually ruled by thelove Goddess Venus, who is receptive, inclusive, and into dialogue as a meansof conflict resolution. This balance of male and female at the harvest indicates animportant turning point, one where we are inherently able to nourish and synchronise maleand female - within, through subtle body channels, as well as without, through acombination of rational and sensitivity, to be in oneness in thought, word and deed.

I’m told those who adhere to the Mayancalendar are calling a five day period, beginning with the Equinox, a ‘cosmicconvergence’. Though I am not an experton the Mayan wave calculation, I can say that the planets currently accentdramatic shift and change; and the influence of the New SUPER MOON in Libra onthe 27^th may well bring about sudden bolts from the blue that forceone to become much more aware. A new Moon around Equinox is an extremelypowerful portent of transformation. The following day, the 28th is Michelmas, symbolic of truth and light.

More on the new moonin a moment; first let’s look more closely at this year’s Autumn Equinox, whichfalls auspiciously upon the aspect of the lunar cycle, when Tibetans honour themoon cycle’s strongest day for female energy, ‘Dakini day’. A Dakini, in the Tibetan tradition is a wisdomprotector whose name means variously ‘Sky Dancer’, ‘Space Goer’, ‘CelestialWoman’ or ‘Cloud Fairy’; The Dakini works tirelessly to help all beings, upholdingher Bodhisattva vow, wishing enlightenment for all. A cosmic Grand Earth Trine charged Monday morning’s New VirgoMoon with remarkable recuperative powers. The trine’s influence is heightened today (Tuesday)as munificent Jupiter stations at 10Taurus, giving us perspective endowedwith stability, and precious time to graze enables one to digest and see what needs to be done in order to manifeston the material plane.

By conserving and concentrating resources, this lunationencourages one to get real and focus, to channel universal consciousnessthrough very ordinary circumstances, such as regular daily chores, taking careof mind and body. Cosmic Love Goddess Venus moves into virtuous Virgo today (22nd Aug) reminding us how PRACTICE makes PERFECT :)) In love or at work, Venus in Virgo encourages us to to clean up our act and be grounded, sensible and diligent; to do and give the best we can brings joy and satsifaction to any task.

Great time to detox. Even our meditaton practice can be a place of purification, as we benefit from the earthy Venus influence now opposing watery Neptune, symbolic of spiritual and psychic connection. To my mind this combination overcomes the usual Venus is in detriment in Virgo, by default of Venus being exated in Pisces, which is ruled by Neptune - highlighting practical application with sensitivity can bring about the realisation (of emptiness & bliss).

Note: Mercury went retrograde at 1Virgo; with loving Venus now at this point, we may begin to feel 'easier' about mercurial issues which arose around the 3rd August. Mercury also goes forward this coming weekend. (Did I hear someone say hooray?)

Crowning Leo Glory ~> Full Moon in Aquarius 2011

A mega blast of cosmic energy roared from the Leo Sun King markingwild this week. The triple series of solar flares peaked with an X-flare onTuesday the 9^th August at 8:05UT. Solar flares hurl highly-charged particlesand plasma into the solar system. These fierce coronal mass ejections impactupon Earth through a variety of means, from the weather to communicationsatellites; the flare on Tuesday (Mar’s day) was thankfully not directed head-ontowards Earth, yet there are still strong vibrations; and the sensitive foundit hard to sleep, with little appetite, feeling listless. Thisparticular set of flares are symbolic of our spiritual progress and being ableto familiarise oneself with the ability to remain centred during thepurification process which encourages the Leo crown (chakra) to shine.

The Sun is exalted in Leo, so events are dramatic, and oftenfun. Though this past week has been ‘marred’, literally, with Mars igniting volatileinflamitory issues through the challenging square to Uranus in Aries, i.e. theeconomic downgrades for U.S. & France, and of course, the "England riots", whichshocked everyone by the speed at which they spread (and I don’t think one canblame social media, I saw many posts that encouraged people to stay home and safe). Mars is hot, fiery and implusive, as is Aries. Uranus however, willreveal any instability, whereas Mars ignites the tinder-box. Mars is also in adetrimental position throughout August (in homey Cancer,as well as being ‘unruly’ out-of-bounds). Mars also aggravates anger; it is welldocumented that people lose their ability to think straight when angry. Riotingis therefore a lose-lose situation - all the more reason to follow the Buddha’sadvice and practice being calm. Yet with Mars' opposition to powerfulbut secretive Pluto (square Uranus), has brought a challenging and oftenpolarising emotional and economic roller-coasters to ride, from the depths ofdispair and up again to envisioning the confident future - as well as bringing previouslyhidden ufo files, to surface. I love ufology and am endlessly fascinated bywhat’s hidden in space (of course from the Buddhist pov, there is no-space:)).But still, my relative inclination is towards spiritual esoterica.

Esoterically speaking, it might interest you to know how theSun works on three levels - a bit like a sand-mandala, with its’ triplelayered meaning: physical (body), heart (speech) and Spirit (the wisdom mind).There are also times when each of the Sun’s different qualities are activated. Weare now in a long period of coming to understand the Spiritual wisdom-mind, a mindthat has been stirring the heart-mind with varying intensity since the summersolstice 2010.

During this time of accelerated Spiritual development, we arelearning to go beyond the political mundane events we see around us, andelevate our consciousness so that when confronted by difficult situations we remainclear and lucid.

The Full Moon at 20 degrees of Aquarius on Saturday August13^th, at 19:57bst, we have the opportunity to connect to kindredspirits, and raise that loving vibration, to generate the altruistic intention theAquarian brotherhood of humankind symbolises.

Planet Venus is alsocurrently up-close and very personal with the Sun (exact conjunction on 16th) andopposing the Moon, indicating the importance of LOVE. So let's look at how welove: INTERpersonal describes relationships between you and another.INTRApersonal describes self-love - which is very poignant during a superiorconjunction of the Sun and Venus. With a sigh of relief we wavedgoodbye to an old Moon that held keys which unlocked karmic bonds – a lunation which began as the third of three eclipses wasalways going to be heavy (famine, war, Norway and beloved Amy – not to mention anyother ‘crisis’). Am now inclined to say let’s be brave likethe gracious lion and welcome a new lunar cycle that began with 7 Leo at19:40bst, and stabilise the happy noble heart :).

Leo isruled by the Sun, at the centre of our solar system. As such, Leo's are usually commanding characters, who tend to be at the hub of any action. This elite sign enjoys dressing up, having fun, and beingdramatic. But such amusement also comes with a hefty responsibility: to lead with grandeur andwarmth, emanating a love for all that stokes fiery Leo's sensibility ofbeing in charge.

Fromwhere I am (southern France) I'm happy to report that for the first time in ageswe’re experiencing piercing blue skies, with the Sun radiating the kind ofclarity that inspires painters, philosophers and parties. There's a definite newnessin the air as this lunar cycle begins with the Sun at home in regal Leo, as it is conjoinedby both, the sensitive Moon and the love Goddess, Venus, the latter two bestowingfeminine charm and beauty, as well as loyalty and dignity. In Buddhist teachings we acknowledge everyone wants to be happy, to be contentin their skin, and with the ability to spiritually, emotionally and rationallydevelop the human (animal) condition. What we really need to compensate recentgloom is a healthy dose of radiant light. So it’s nice to see the actual Sun in the science newsagain: It appears every time the Cardinal Cross manifests, usually by themonthly passage of the Moon in Cancer, we have an M-class solar flare (whichthen have a knock-on affect upon earth's magnetic field). These flares may well have more todo with our spiritual evolution than is at first obvious; and this observation needsmore careful research from my side. It will be interesting to see how the Sunbehaves as Mars enters into the Cardinal Cross foray the same day that Mercurygoes retrograde next week. (FYI I am currently working on two differentastrological projects: THE book :) And an article about ‘The Cardinal Cross ofthe Central Spiritual Sun’, both of which are in the process of being...)

Yes, hot on the heels of this new lunation, Mercury, planet ofcommunication, goes Retrograde on Wednesday 3rd :)) Astral advise: BACK UPeverything - twice! Mercury is now at exalted 1 degree Virgo, which is usually excellentfor analysing or organising the filing system; and our saintly halo for beingso ordered and sorted has the potential to become whiter-than-white as Mercuryopposes oceanic Neptune, just as it begins to retrograde. I jest. But whenevera planet goes retrograde, it’s important to look at how it links to otherplanets because that will be the triple whammy. And the opposition from Mercury to Neptune couldbe very confusing, especially if travelling, map reading, dealing withneighbours or siblings, or perhaps more importantly, digesting spiritualteachings - because this is actually the kind of communicative Mercury configurationwhich encourages the spirit of enquiry, using analytical methods to reach adeeply intuitive understanding. Mercuryopposition to Neptune creates a ripple effect, with thoughts, feelings and and ideas moving through the unseen energy field's undercurrent. Setting a positive intention is therefore paramount.

Fast moving Mercury doesn’t stay long in Virgo, though all kinds of informationduring this three week period – from facts and ideas, teachers and teachings – willneed to be tested – including faith. In Buddhism this kind of questioning iswelcomed. Indeed, it is called for, as one must understand from the depth ofone’s rational and intuitive mind that the Buddha dharma is pure gold (which itis – take my word, but you must find this veritable treasure for yourself, in order forit to resonate in the mind-stream’s deeper vibration).

Mulitfaceted mult-talented Mercury has many skills; healing and communicationbeing 'higher' traits that do extremely well in Virgo; but because it is fleet-footedwith the gift of the gab, it's also called the trickster planet, so symbolic ofsmooth-talking con-artists, and thieves. As mercury goes back into Leo, this indicates ourego, or our own mind, has the potential to either heal or become the tricksterwith all points in between. Thisretrograde is about transforming the ego. So watch for saying anything you don’tmean just to puff yourself up and make yourself look grander than others.

By Monday the 8th August quick-silver Mercury is already back into Leo,indicating that we need to transform the ego-bound mind-heart with confidenceand LOVE. This means the late degrees Leo (from 18 degrees onward) are thrice-blessedby trickster healer, with an optimum 3 weeks to then awaken heart-mind. (Pluto in Leo Generation - aka we Baby Boomers - could well feel the need to gaininsight into self in order to transform the mind - toute suite) :)) Going all the way back to 18 Leo, to go forward on 27 August, by settingthe 'intention' to serve both spiritually and practically, ego-mind goesthrough the mental wringer.

All this at the same time loving Venus in Leo takes hidden refuge inSpirit Sun for next 60 days while she is at 'Superior conjunction' as sheradiated from behind the Sun. This means that we have a rather long-lasting Sun-Venusconjunction for a couple of months, until she once again emerges as Ishtar, theseductive evening star that will dazzle in Autumnal skies. All the whilethis Lionine Love Goddess Venus is reminding us that vanquishingself-cherishing ego stabilses the heart ♥ ♥ ♥ :))

A Full Moon in August 13^th will be a good maker for assessingconstructive energies that aid others, which represent the Moon in Aquarius,the sign which is the hierarchical ruler of the emotional Moon. Basically, when we reach this cooler and moreobjective Aquarian Moon , we will once again have to shift-up a notch, in orderto combat the compulsive ego’s destructive need for instant gratification.Luckily, the combination of a Full Aquarian Moon’s clear-light can provide therational mind’s insight to attain some kind of stabilising insight.

A darkmoon is coming to rest before tomorrow’s last of 3 eclipses in one summerylunation. The previous two eclipses (the1st Solar on June 1st & a Lunar eclipse on June 15th) opened the mind(Gemini) to portals of truth and light at the centre of the Galaxy(Sagittarius). For the Spiritual Warrior this one can open the floodgate of life itself, welcoming ancestors incarnating in the manifest universe.

So while Kundalini meditation is powerful (and always done with the master's guidance), due to the sensitive nature of cosmic rays the best any ordinary individual might hope for during this eclipse is the ability to find a balance between rational and intuitve, yin and yang in active refelction.

Tomorrow's Full Moon full moon eclipse is a big day for Tibetan Buddhists, marking SAKA DAWA, the day we celebrate the birth, enlightenment and parinirvana of Sakyamuni Gothama Buddha. ♥_/|\_ ૐ

This eclipse, with the Moon at 24 Sagittarius, aligns with the centre of the Galaxy, opening the portal for the mind-stream in truth to imbibe ...and embody the sacred cosmic love-light. Lunar eclipse is in effect from sunset in Europe, rising to perfect culmination at 21:14 (bst) with a central heart connection between planet Earth and Moon. For the meditator this is an optimum opportunity for impartial observation of all sensation (internal-external, yin-yang, sun-moon) harmonising earthly heart-mind with our illiminating awakened spirit.

Most harmonious relationship today between Gemini Sun and Libra Moon with the growing light of the Moon; this waxing 120 degree triangle between the lights marks GURU RINPOCHE day in the Tibetan tradition, when we make offerings to Guru Padmasambhava to help us to overcome obstacles and stay clear in heart~mind and intention.

This being the month of SAKA DAWA, when karma is multiplied, it’s worth noting how the emotionally aware Moon in poised Libra is separating from a conjunction with an exalted Saturn, Lord of Karma (and is still within orb). Saturn is presently powerful, about to go station direct on MoonDay 13th, making this a poignant moment to harness. Astrologers often declare ‘there's no such thing as luck’! Instead, we say there are auspicious times, which, by their very nature, are more likely to place us in the right place, talking to the right person, saying the right thing, and most importantly, holding the right view and right understanding. And it is the magnificent planet Jupiter which presides over these precious golden moments, so often laden with blessings and opportunity.

Beneficent Jupiter bestows good fortune, success, and the desire to travel and expand horizons, be that spiritually, intellectually and/or physically. Jupiter also indicates sacred wisdom, higher learning and innate teaching abilities. With intrinsic humour, hope, and good-naturedness, Jupiter's motto is "Be big about it!" Its principle is generosity of spirit, that also determines our moral convictions and ethics.

Jupiter's significance is now advancing through the circle of animals: For the past four and a half months, the largest planet in our Solar system has been whirling at the speed of light through Aries, sign of the pioneering confident Ram; any kind of self-obsession or self-analysis a magnified learning curve. The influence of Jupiter during this dynamic sign seemed to be a wake-up call from our personal inner-guru to understand persona, or more specifically put 'self ' into perspective and question the wisdom of persona projection; to not be so pushy or self-indulgent, but instead think of others and find peace. When Jupiter recently opposed responsible Saturn in relationship-orienated Libra, a year-long call urged us to step-up enthusiasm and be confident when doing what is right and fair for others, and for peace and justice.

In this modern world of fast-track evolution, there are also shared events which are triggers to make the most of opportunity, symbolised by personal planets such as Jupiter now aspecting generational Neptune (by trine in the ingress chart), the planet that represents great swayths of spirit-soul groups and the underlying emotional energy that binds collective thought, events or situation.

Now we are riding the big wave, with Fukushima, for instance, as many instinctively feel the quickening karmic winds of change, even if unable to exactly express those emotions - feelings, by their very nature are a sensation that carry unseen chemicals, hormones and thoughts. Events such as happened in Japan create the kind of interconnected situation which makes one wonder about the philosophy of a ‘me, me, me’ society. All the while the transpersonal planet change, Uranus, remains in (tropical) self-orientated Aries, when kindred spirits instigate many a new collective new move (for the next seven years), as Jupiter, celestial teacher and bringer of good fortune shifts into the steady sign of the Tauran Bull until June 2012; so symbolic of treasuring the value in simple pleasures such as a child's smile, the smell of a flower, or a view from a mountain top.

And by Jove! A massive thunder storm has now going on over my head for the past three days! Cosmic Twins point way with triple set of eclipses -> June '11

A New Gemini Moon at 22:03 BST, on June 1^st, is a partial Solar Eclipse over the northern Arctic, stretching from Sibera to Nova Scotia, also marking ‘Saka Dawa’, the most the venerated lunar month in the Tibetan calendar. Saka Dawa celebrates Lord Buddha’s birth, enlightenment, and parinirvana ( this often happens a month after the rest of Asia).

This eclipse, although partial, is still an important astrological phenomenon as the Dragon’s tail (following South Node) in the sign of the Gemini Twins highlights the need to come from a well-informed place - implying the time is ripe for some serious mind-training. It's time for a healthy neuroplasticity meditation. Bear in mind how eclipses are the result of earth encountering yin-yang energy vortices, from which we confront duality; all kinds of energies can swirl and ride the enquiring Gemini mind – the seen and the unseen, positive and negative, light Gemini twin and dark Gemini twin, all can spin the wild out-of-control mind and turn our thinking upside down (which can, of course, in certain circumstances be rather helpful).

Because Gemini is an ‘Air’ sign, we are therefore encouraged to guard the Bodhi mind’s treasure, to be mindful of breath (as mind’s vehicle to Spirit) and support calm abiding Shamatha meditation so that pure prana, ki, r’lung, bio energy (different names for cosmic energy) swiftly pacifies and protects mind-body-spirit, helping not to incur negative karma. Please also be aware that from the physical body’s perspective, breathing problems can also be magnified during this lunation (28 days), such as asthma and allergy ~& Breathe gently, even when stuck at the traffic light or in a slow-moving queue; take the opportunity to tune into breath and calm the mind with long, slow, mindful inhalation and exhalation. Earth itself is also experiencing 'winds', with powerfully strong tornadoes; and the official Atlantic hurrican season starts with this New Moon Gemini Solar Eclipse.

As this is Saka Dawa month, Karma is also multiplied throughout, with positive karma generated from taking the eight Mahayana precepts during this sacred month magnified (Basic 5 precepts: no killing, no stealing, no lying, no intoxicants, and no sexual misconduct.). What makes this Saka Dawa special is how this is a triple eclipse season with two solar eclipses, as both June and July commence with a New Moon accenting Earth’s poles: first in the Northern Land of The Midnight Sun in June, and at the Southern Antarctic (where all the world's water meets) in July. It’s as though Earth’s Sushumna is activated with this set of eclipses (so that we can consiously download the healing gamma ray activity coming from the Crab nebula) Sandwiched in between at the apt middle way, is Saka Dawa Duchen, with a Full Moon Lunar eclipse on 15^th June – A Lunar eclipse (visible over Europe and Asia but not the US) just before Summer Solstice picks up the last Winter Solstice Lunar eclipse which pointed directly to the galaxy ~> amplifying an opportunity to tap into and embrace the light of intelligence, and raise the cosmic love vibration. As Sun, Moon and Earth symbolise unifying duality of the relations between male and female, yin and yang, and poles north and south, crown and root chakra, we mindfully meld action with wisdom and evolve mindful-consciousness.

Regular readers are now aware to be attentive to the subtle body, with chakras, winds and channels being extra sensitive at the time of an eclipse: Eclipses can be an integral (and sometimes backdoor) passage for spiritual evolution. On a relative level we often witness life-changing events and situations during eclipse season, especially if the degree of the eclipse constellates our own horoscope. At 11degrees Gemini, this first of these three eclipses comes in regal style as it conjuncts Aldeberan, a Babylonian Royal star that confers honour through risk (think twice before doing anything too crazy). This star is the (third?) eye of the Bull; which Babylonians refferred to as 'The Furrow of Heavens' - perhaps in relation to the milky way and galaxy. In the tropical sign of Gemini, this promises to be a powerful month with the potential for awakening to collective enlightenment, particularly by analysing and questioning the verity of one’s beliefs.

Saka Dawa Duchen culminates with a Festival of Lights on the 15^th June with the lunar eclipse pointing towards the centre of the Galaxy. This lunar eclipse shares a similar vibration with the last Winter Solstice Lunar eclipse (link to blog) in as much as it is a means for us to understand the nature of the etheric and subtle bodies, and activates the collective sacred fire. Alice A. Bailey teaches that Gemini is the Hierarchal ruler of Earth; and Earth is esoteric ruler of Sagittarius; thus the connection between these three highlights the unique relation and exaltation of the nodal axis in these signs. This combination almost guarantees soul development: “When the dual forces of the cosmic brothers (Gemini) becomes the energy of the one who rides towards the light (Sagittarius) then the fourth (chakra or dimension) becomes the fifth (chakra or dimension). Humanity, the link, becomes the Hierarchy, the bestower of all good. Then all the Sons of God rejoice” (p356 Esoteric Astrology. Italics are my own interpretations).

At the time of the June 1st eclipse, the horoscope indicates the Sun and Moon make wonderful aspects to disciplined Saturn: an indication how we take on our work with a greater sense of responsibility. This aligement also accents our ongoing Spiritual development with the Cardinal Cross of the Central Spiritual Sun coming into perfection only three days after the actual eclipse (so still very much within effect). The same can also be said about the lunar eclipse being only six days before the Summer Solstice, which also brings into line the Cardinal Cross. The last of the three eclipses finishes the set with a perfect Cardinal Cross, meaning we must once again look to Uranus as the agent of the changes making an easy sextile to Mars in Gemini only a few degrees away from our original eclipse - making it even more important that we are aware of 'what goes around, comes around'.

So while I am often labelled 'optimistic' when delivering complex astrology (I have a propensity of fire over water in my own chart), I appreciate these are extremely unusual times of enormous change, but at least we can be aware of what is happening; with information at our fingertips (Gemini) we can make an informed decision as to the direction in which we should go (Sagittarius). I’ll probably write more about the Cardinal Cross of the Spiritual Sun over the summer... And who knows? I may even finish the sign-by-sign analysis I so enthusiastically promised last year! Meanwhile, enjoy the blessings of blissful Sakadawa love-light and remember to go easy during this intense eclipse period.

Wesak Buddha Purnima --> Full Moon in Scorpio 2011

While the Full Moon in Scorpio is widely recognised and celebrated as the Buddha’s birth, enlightenment, and mahanirvana, and this upcoming Full Moon, in Fixed sign Scorpio opposite Sun in Taurus, is known all over Asia as either ‘Wesak’ or ‘Buddha Purnima’; the Tibetans have another quite complicated calendar system, which will celebrate the thrice-blessed moon known as ‘SakaDawa’ on June the 15th (when there is a solar eclipse – making the Summer Solstice Full Moon one of the year’s mega moons).

To clarify: this upcoming Full Moon, 27 degrees Taurus, at 12:09 (British Summertime) on the 17th May, is ‘Buddha Purnima’, honoured generally in the Hindu faith with Shakyamuni Buddha as an emanation of Vishnu, ‘The Preserver’; and, at the same time the three sacred events are venerated by Theravada Buddhist tradition with ‘Wesak’.

In the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, during this Full Moon we connect to the ‘Wheel of Time’, Kalachakra, with the Mandala for World Peace.

Symbolic of feelings, needs and desires, the emotive Moon in the zodiac sign Scorpio – sign of intimacy, depth and death, signals we now intuitively know when enough is enough. Lively up Yourself -> Four Aries planets in pre-dawn sky ->

The current Mercury-Venus-Mars-Jupiter conjunction in Aries, now seen in the pre-dawn sky is rare . We haven't seen the likes of which since 1966. Even then it only lasted 7 days, compared to the 20 days we will experience this rather dynamic conjunction, so good for new projects. Last time we had the 20 days wild alignment was in 1680, quite some time ago. The next is in 2040, so best make the most of it while we can!

Along with another tricky aspect (Uranus in Pisces (sudden floods/radiation)), this Aries alignment has already proved itself to be HUGE. Look to the part of your horoscope with the last decanate of Aries and the first of Taurus, to confirm how a bigger picture is quickly unfolding propelling action that puts personal motivation into perspective; for wherever these degrees are in the personal horoscope, there is an indication of the area where a cosmic springboard now encourages us to jump into the new, with the spirit of adventure, and stability as the goal.

Note how these four planets working together in the Aries conjunction is fast acting, and is an extremely fiery combination that can easily whip-up things to fly about the air (as we have seen with the US’s current spate of tornados). This Beltane new Moon in Taurus, May2nd/3rd, 7:51bst, highlights the Spiritual Warrior’s ability to forgive and move quickly on to manifest for the greater good with love, wisdom, and compassion as necessary stabilising forces. Exalted in Taurus, here the Moon offers the best possible place to remain constant and steady – even in the midst of rapid change the Moon in Taurus keeps feet planted on the ground in a very practical and sustainable manner. Mercury now conjunct dynamic Mars at home in fiery ARies; Mars woule normally be heading breakneck speed were it not opposition weighty Saturn. Thankfully Mercury doesn't perfect an oppostion to Saturn, even when it goes forward on Saturn's day (Saturday 23rd April).

The Buddha said “You will not be punished for your anger, you will be punished by your anger.”

This quote is good to bear in mind as MERCURY is RETROGRADE in fiery ARIES from Wednesday 30th March until 23rd April '11. You know the drill: double check travel plans, re-read contracts, and forgive everyone if they're late, have ignored you, or misunderstood the situation. In Aries, Mercury can be a domineering hothead: not necessarily the most patient of combinations, yet that's exactly what we need to practice: PATIENCE. BEAUTIFUL Full Libra Moon on the rise opposite a fiery Aries Sun ~> exact Sunday night/Monday morning (17/18^th 2:04gmt +1 for summertime). This Aries-Libra illumination accents SELF CONSCIOUSNESS in BALANCE, and has seriously karmic overtones, as the Moon is with weighty golden Saturn, which you can see at the right hand side of the Moon. And it is another SuperMoon - which means the interplay between Sun-Moon-Earth is once again strong. The Sun in Aries has several planetary allies, with Mars, Mercury, Jupiter & Uranus stirring up unexpected action. The Moon is in an cooler Air sign, opposite all these exciting planets. One might even put the two elements together and note how a three-day storm sweeping across the southern states of the US, with multiple tornadoes ends just as the Moon entered Libra.

A Moon in Libra accents the wonder of feminine beauty and deliciously intelligent wiles; to my mind be this Full Moon will be marked by a remark by HH the DL, who answered a question in Sweden (just as the Moon went into Libra) how there is a chance the next reincarnation of the Dalai Lama will be female. A New Moon in the sign of the Ram renews hope and optimism, as additional seasonal momentum propels one fearlessly forward. Such drive is helpful, particularly as the start of this lunation heralds massive and potentially disruptive sudden change, from which there is much to learn. New projects, ideas or adventures that recently appeared ‘all-systems go’ may quickly reach a momentary high, leading to the need to slow down one’s mind and ride this New Aries Moon, 3^rd/4^th April, with focus and attention.

Dramatic developments demand an alert mind ready to seize opportunities that stir the compassionate heart into positive action. Since the Spring Equinox (21^st March), when sensitive Moon conjunct boundary-marking and restrictive Saturn (read cuts) we’ve increasingly witnessed rising levels of dissatisfaction across the world over too little autonomy, status, or stability, without a modicom of which the relationship to self and other’s – including the Divine - struggles to find balance.

Now that a cluster of planets assemble in the confident but sometimes reckless sign Aries, the astral prospective is as antagonistic as it is assertive. In a push to seek volition and establish autonomy we may realise sudden new growth. But push too far, too fast, or be too furious, violent and competitive, and any or everything could backfire. Being hot-headed, anxious, or intolerant is not the same as being keen and eager. This is one of those occasions when more haste really is less speed and the Mercury retro could work in our favour.

In esoteric astrology, Mercury rules Aries, signalling how important it is to contemplate before we act upon asserting our beliefs and thoughts – even for only the Aries nano-second. This association between the first sign of the zodiac, Aries, and the heavenly messenger, Mercury, suggests single-minded thoughtful focus, to be genuinely mindful, as shaping life in truth requires courage as well as reflection, especially if we are to understand life’s mysteries.

The Buddha said “All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become.”

The most dangerous enemy to ardent Aries is its’ own over-heated impatience. Aries can be impulsive, acting quickly to see fast results; self-absorbed and unaware that others can be more cautious, needing time to reflect Aries can soon run up against a wall, spent and out of steam. To avoid such worst case scenarios, make the most of retrograde Mercury in Aries, affording these three precious weeks of reflection.

In Tantra, fire represents knowledge; in astrology fire symbolises intuition. With SIX planets in fiery Aries, the Spiritual warrior advances as instinct aligns with ‘right understanding’ (from the Buddhist 8-fold path). Those planets are Dynamic Mars (at home in Aries), BML, altruistic Uranus (hierarchical ruler of Aries), soulful Moon, Spirit Sun, expansive Jupiter AND retrograde Mercury, all oppose the confining Saturn, bringing to a head the recent 3rd and FINAL hit between Jupiter and Saturn (phew - enough already ;) thank you Goddess; this is the last seriously low point of a 20-year cycle): Blazing expansion and high-minded morality are again face-to-face, balancing all points between healthy self-assertion and making sure other’s also have a fair deal. Even-handedness is a major and ongoing deal (until 2012 – at least), and particularly karmic for the (internal) authority that ought to come from the heart.

Talking of which, it is spring (in the northern hemisphere), which rules wood and the colour green: the colour of the heart. Wood represents organic expansion, with influencing wind element; green is also the colour of Tara, the Tibetan Goddess who is the Great Mother Liberator. SuperMoon Spring Equinox with Uranus in Aries ~ March 11

What a week! Solar X-flares, volcanoes, a massive earthquake (and lots of smaller ones), PLUS a mega tsunami to add to the 4.5 billion people on the planet already suffering from some kind of disaster. Rescue teams do their best. Lightworkers too; please join me sending healing prayers of love to pacify the elements, overcome obstacles and eliminate fear, to the people of Japan, and the world over. _/\_♥ॐ.

Everyone has been wondering: was it the SuperMoon which caused Japan’s 8.9 earthquake and tsunami? My answer is, well, um, yes it could be (but that’s not even half the story), even though it’s not exactly the correct definition of a SuperMoon (new or full closest to the earth, of which there are 5 or 6 every year); this current lunation culminates in said SuperMoon, and only one day before the Spring Equinox, the starting point of the Zodiac.

The chart of Japan’s Earthquake shows Thor’s Hammer, with the Moon and oceanic Neptune crashing down onto earthy Saturn. The last of three oppositions between Jupiter and Saturn form the tight axis, like an iron rod holding Thor’s hammer, ready to crash into earth and ocean reminding us to overcome fear (Jupiter in Aries), rest in our centre (Saturn in Libra), and be responsible custodians who really do take care of the earth. Jupiter as planet of truth, is still in hard aspect to secretive Pluto, and with Pluto's influence to hide it may not be entirely clear exactly what has happened for some time to come. But there are always those who sense the truth, and are able to rise the challenge to this intense kind of energy to transform, generate light, and evolve - big style!

Adding influence, however, is a negative fixed star (Sheat) that implies flooding with the last degree of Pisces, just as Uranus, planet of shock and awe, jolted into explosive Aries March 11^th, where it stays for 7 years. Generally speaking, Uranus is unpredictable and chaotic during change, capable of extreme and radical beaviour. Its also the planet of genius, the New Age, and the kindred spirits. According to esoteric astrology, Uranus is the hierarchical ruler for heroic Aries. This means the collective competitive ego will change. How this manifests over these coming years will depend upon the degree of a leader’s awareness (please Goddess!). Good to know the higher vibration of Uranus has the potential to imbibe such wisdom, and in Aries it also provides courage to be mindful, especially when moving into new ventures with an altruistic heart. Uranus in Aries also recognises the value of each unique individual's contribution in the process of humanity's evolution, so that all beings are happy.

Cast your mind back to last spring, when we had a taste of what the thoughtless and heavier vibration of Uranus leaving the last degrees of the zodiac and moving into Uranus in Aries was like. As shown, this can be a fast-moving accidental and head-strong energy; and the Deepwater Horizon explosion took place (the same time as Saturn went back into the last degree of Virgo (which is the same as this full Moon) and Chiron went into Pisces). While senstive people held hands across the sands, oil spewed untold pollution into the sea along with unknown quantities of corexit, a detergent so strong that we don’t know long-term effects upon us, or any living creature in or out of the sea.

Uranium is also named after Uranus – It's obviously time for the nuclear industry to really look at what kind of energy we ought to invest in. But who among us will be the brave Spritual Warrior to leave behind the old outworn paradigm and impliment a daring new vision? Interestingly, the Japanese nuclear reactors are now 40 years old - that's two Jupiter-Saturn cycles, one and a bit Saturn cycle AND a Uranus opposition. One could say Japan's nuclear industry is going through a midlife crisis. This midlife change is something we all go though (in various forms), from the age of 38-42, when transiting Uranus opposes the natal Uranus, and the need to radically alter one's lifestyle in order to create and impliment the freedom to explore our own uniqueness becomes paramount during the second half of life (as symbolised by so many marriages, jobs and contracts that break down at this age).

I think/hope/pray that by the time Jupiter has rollicked its' way through Aries, by early June, things will begin to settle down somewhat. There's a humdinger New Moon April 3rd to manoeuvre, which could be challanging after this upcoming SuperMoon in Virgo that opposes the watery Pisces Sun on the 19^th of March. Floods are normal with a Spring Equinox tide, but as Sun and Moon are in tight square to the nodes it could well herald higher tides, more storms/quakes, greater volcanic action & magnetic solar flares.

Jupiter always makes things so much bigger than we ever expect them to be - good or bad. And as thunderous Jupiter and electrical Uranus have been melding cosmic magic together for the past year, we have witnessed mighty storms, along with a global depression that has even brought people together in a new and exciting manner, with the unification of spirituality of the digital rainbow tribe.

Yet the planets are hotting up now with the heavenly messenger, Mercury, also in Aries; and as Jupiter and Uranus now start to separate, we must actively train the mind and exercise our vision to implement the altruistic state of consciousness. Of course, this means we remain centred in our presence and invite the Gentle Iron rabbit to work his wonder ♥

Other important factors to consider for this upcoming Spring Equinox Full moon is the Sun-Moon-Earth-nodal-axis forming a mutable cross upon the same degree as the Winter Solstice lunar eclipse, which just happens to be the very same degrees as the first Jupiter Saturn opposition last March – so there is an emphasis upon the last degrees of the Zodiac (which square the galactic centre); PLUS this actual last Jupiter-Saturn opposition’s (exact 28^th March), and unpredictable Uranus is very much in the cosmic mix. From the esoteric point of view, a Mutable Cross awakens consciousness with the potential to raise planetary awareness during times of immense change. Did I hear someone say 'Bring it on!'?

Looking forward, Neptune will soon be going into Pisces (at the same time as we have a new Aries Moon on April 3^rd); this could be our saving grace: Imagine if the world were bathed in beautifully structured unpolluted water - how healthy in mind, body and spirit we would be. Trust me: We are going to learn a lot more about water during the next 14 years. .•♪♫¸¸.☆♥ ♥ ♥
